China-Egypt Academic Exchange Seminar Successfully Held in Menoufia

On November 30, 2026 (Cairo time), the China-Egypt Academic Exchange Seminar was successfully held in Menoufia, Egypt. The seminar was hosted by the China-Egypt Joint Laboratory of Nonlinear Dynamics and Vibration Control of Rotating Machinery (jointly established by Harbin Institute of Technology and Menoufia University) and co-organized by the School of Astronautics at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and the Faculty of Electronic Engineering at Menoufia University.

The seminar was presided over by Associate Professor Nasser A. Saeed, an International Distinguished Young Scholar from Menoufia University, and was held in the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering. The event brought together more than 80 faculty and student representatives from HIT’s School of Astronautics and School of Transportation Science and Engineering, as well as Menoufia University’s Faculty of Electronic Engineering. Building on the establishment of the China-Egypt Joint Laboratory, the meeting focused on exchanging the latest research results in the fields of dynamics and vibration control, deepening inter-institutional cooperation, and promoting substantive developments in China-Egypt scientific and technological collaboration.

Professor Said Abdel Atty, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, delivered the welcome address on behalf of the organizers. He extended a warm welcome to the representatives from HIT’s School of Astronautics and School of Transportation Science and Engineering, characterizing the event as a significant milestone in the international cooperation between the two universities.. He noted that the seminar creates broad prospects for joint scientific research, academic exchange, joint graduate training, and collaboration between researchers from both institutions.

During the academic seminar, Associate Research Fellow Zeyuan Chang from the School of Astronautics delivered the opening presentation titled Mechanical Dynamics and Vibration Control Research Team. He introduced the primary research directions, relevant achievements, and the prospects and frameworks for cooperation of the Institute of Aerospace Dynamics and Control. Subsequently, HIT PhD candidates Xinghua He and Zhuoran Tian (School of Astronautics), and Jiangchuan Chen (School of Transportation Science and Engineering) delivered reports centered on advanced topics, specifically: Data-Driven Nonlinear System Identification and Application of Physics-Informed Neural Networks, Parallel-optimized Ordinary Differential Equation solver for multi-body dynamics, Unmanned aerial vehicle road disease detection based on deep learning. The series of reports, closely aligned with engineering challenges and academic innovation, sparked considerable interest and in-depth discussion among the Egyptian faculty and students. These exchanges laid a solid theoretical foundation and practical support for subsequent joint research, while simultaneously building cross-border and cross-disciplinary academic ties to assist Chinese and Egyptian researchers in their continuous exploration of breakthroughs in the key fields of dynamics and vibration control.
